Tap on the Play button.

Before we get started with the article, I would like to quote something.

"No beauty shines brighter than that of a Good Heart".

No, I'm not being philosophical or will typically be talking about love and romance between Salim and Anarkali.

In this article, we will understand why our Heart beats for someone?.

Just Kidding!

When we talk Workouts, we mostly imagine sweaty people lifting weights and growing muscle.

We will be talking about a muscle which is the most crucial part of our life, "Heart".

So without wasting much time, LET'S GET STARTED!

The word "Cardio" is used to refer to the Heart.

Cardio in terms of workout is a form of activity which promotes healthy Heart.

Responsibilities of our Heart is to circulate blood to our vital organs which carries Oxygen and Nutrition.

Fun-Fact: Our Heart was the first organ to form during our mom's pregnancy.

Benefits of Cardio includes:

  1. More Oxygen and Nutrition supply to our organs and muscles.

  2. Strengthens the Heart Muscle (Cardiac Muscle Tissue).

  3. Improved brain concentration and cognitive function.

  4. Improved confidence.

Now we realise the importance of Cardio. But which activity should we perform to keep our Heart-healthy?

Here are my Top 4 recommendations.

1 Walking or Brisk Walking

One of the most convenient way to keep the heart disease at bay and stay pretty healthy, "Walking". Walking incorporates muscles like legs which improves circulation of the blood within our body.

To have an intermediate intensity activity, we may also Brisk walk.

In case you are at the gym, you may use the treadmill.

In the paper "Walking: Your steps to health" published by the Harvard Medical School mentioned the following:

"To stay well, walk for 30 to 45 minutes nearly every day. Do it all at once or in chunks as short as five to 10 minutes. Aim for a brisk pace of three to four miles an hour, but remember that you'll get plenty of benefit from strolling at a slower pace as long as you stick with it".

All you need are a pair of shoes and a bottle of water to get started.

2 Cycling

Cycling is another most convenient way to keep your Heart Healthy. Cycling also incorporates muscles like legs which increases the blood and makes you look Fantastic.

The wind blowing through your hair makes you calm and makes you Happy.

If you prefer to workout in a Gym, you may use those static bicycles to make those leg work.

3 Elliptical Machine

You might be familiar with the machine shown above. I personally love this machine while I am losing Fat.

While performing elliptical, Our body incorporates not only legs but also other muscles as well. It increases the oxygen consumption within our body.

The more the muscles we incorporate in an activity, the more calories we burn.

Isn't it?

4 Sprinting

Running for a while with full potential is called Sprinting.

If your legs are Fast-twitch Muscle Fiber dominant, Sprinting is for you.

In case if you have missed the article, "All about Muscle - Part I" I would suggest you read the article.

Sprinting is an explosive moment and personally my most favourite. Walking on the treadmill for a long time might seem and feel very demotivating. Sprinting keeps you motivated as you have to perform to the fullest for a short time. It also gives you a Metabolic boost as we incorporate not only legs but also other muscles.

Wanna know how a Sprinter looks like, I would recommend you to Google Search, "Usain Bolt".
